Welcome to my website and thank you for taking a look at my portfolio. Art has always been an integral part of my life, and I was blessed to have art teachers who nurtured my potential and gifted me with the tools of the trade. As an introvert, creating with color and shape gives me a much needed nonverbal line of communication or, as Georgia O’Keefe describes it, a language for “things I have no words for.” I have been working as a freelance artist for over a decade. I graduated from Delta State University with a degree in Fine Arts in 2009 and now live in Clinton, Mississippi with my husband and 3 children.
In painting, my mixed media style combines paint and textiles to create a unique backdrop for historical and travel portraits. I also work with clients to create memorable keepsake art of pets, homes, people, and places. In illustration, my inspiration comes from the lens of my children. I find the imagery that captivates them most is whimsical, bright, crisp, and has intriguing faces that draw us in for a closer look. I have been commissioned to design and paint murals, windows, portraits and landscapes for businesses and private collectors. My portfolio also includes graphic illustration for websites, church sermon art, and published media. Here is a link to a new book I illustrated that was written by Rachel Menke. |
